Gary Neighborhood Services continues to play an active role to ensure a Drug Free Community. Funded by the Lake County Drug Free Alliance, GNS created the Youth Drug Free Program in order to provide information and strategies for youth who are committed to becoming or remaining drug free.

Drug Free workshop topics focus on the following:

Negative consequences of alcohol
Appropriate attitudes toward alcohol, tobacco and illegal drug use
Benefits of a drug free lifestyle
Personal and interpersonal skills relating to alcohol, tobacco and illegal drug use
Peer pressure and avoidance of drugs
